Guy Healy, Japan has been involved in music and music exchange from the early days of GHJ. We love to arrange music exchanges and music tours and to create musical opportunities abroad for all types of musicians. GHJ’s Music Involvement – Past and Present 2004 NAGASAKI GOODWILL JAZZ & GOSPEL TOUR Janet Planet, John Harmon, Tom Washatka, Tom Theabo. Sponsored by NHK Television, NBC Television, Nagasaki Newspaper. Performance included a concert at Sasebo U.S. Naval Base 2000 “NICHIBEI JAM” JAPAN TOUR (featuring The Janet Planet Trio) American jazz vocalist Janet Planet, saxophonist Tom Washatka and guitarist Tom Theabo visited Nagasaki Prefecture where they performed with the Japanese band Harbor Lights at a number of venues. The friendship tour culminated with the formation of the "Nagasaki/Fox Valley Musicians Fraternity" to promote more future music exchanges between Nagasaki and the Fox Valley in Wisconsin. 1993 NEW ORLEANS JAZZ GOODWILL TOUR (featuring Harbor Lights) Nagasaki jazz band Harbor Lights visited the birthplace of jazz New Orleans, where they performed at a number of venues including The New Orleans Jazz Festival. This goodwill tour to promote friendship between the United States and Japan received a great deal of media attention and was featured in the television documentary "Play Over the Sea!" WHAT CAN GHJ MUSIC TOURS DO FOR YOU? Let GHJ introduce your group to Japan. The southern island of Kyushu has a variety of exciting music scenes. Nagasaki in particular is a great place for jazz and blues. Is your group a school group? Come visit some great schools in Japan. Play joint concerts. Learn from each other. Widen your students' musical and cultural horizons. Have a band that wants to go international? Looking for a great way to get some concert experience, meet new contacts, share your talent? ZA RASUTO WAADO Funniest Commercial in a Long Time! Nisshin has a new commercial out.  It’s all about globalization and the new push in Japan for companies to use English as their main language.  It is set, however, on a battlefield, pitting Civil War era Americans against Japanese salarymen.  HILARIOUS!
